A production controlled at every stage
Purchase of raw materials
This is where it all begins: the choice of the best raw materials. Thanks to the close collaboration and technical support of Filtrade s.p.a., we buy from the world’s most important production markets. Why microfiber? Because it absorbs and releases water slowly. It is perfect to guarantee the best technical performance of our products.
Warping
In textile technology, warping means arranging all the threads making up the fabric's warp and winding them on the beam - the large reel (almost 1000 kg) of yarn - used for the loom where they are woven.
Weaving
The weaving step is crucial, moreover, perfecting a product may take long and require several tests: a series of Van de Wiele looms equipped with one to three beams work nonstop, producing about 250,000 meters of fabric per year. For the production of dusting fabrics, we use Wildman circular machines fed with carding tape.
Finishing/Resining
At this stage, we have a fabric with warp and weft. However, it is not sufficiently rigid and therefore it needs to undergo two further finishing steps. First, an assessment of the visual and technical characteristics and, if needed, the use of machines to arrange, smoothen and brush the surface of the fabric (or the trimmer to finish it). Second, the resin coating, which gives the fabric more firmness, depending on performance and technological needs.
Quality control and laboratory testing
Guaranteeing top-level procedures and materials is quite simply a must for us. We carry out strict quality tests and checks on every sample, making sure the sizes and colors are consistent and there is no pilling or abrasion. All materials are checked once again before shipping, as this ensures compliance with the performance requirements indicated in the technical data sheet.
Logistics and shipments
Packaging often causes so much waste. For this reason, at Furpile Moda, we have been lowering our impact on the environment for over ten years, using only packaging made from regenerated plastic.
